6 Items New Moms Should Put on Their Baby Registry

Expecting a baby can be an exciting, yet overwhelming time for new moms. And of course, creating a baby registry can be a great way to ensure that you receive all the essential items you need for your upcoming arrival. Below I’m sharing a few of the things I recommend for new moms!

  1. Mini fridge for late-night feedings: Late-night feedings are a fact of life for new moms and dads. Whether you are breastfeeding or formula feeding, having a mini fridge in the bedroom can be a game-changer. Not only does it save you from having to run to the kitchen multiple times a night, but it also keeps your milk or formula at the perfect temperature.

  2. Extra Pump Parts: If you're a breastfeeding mother, you know how important it is to have a reliable breast pump that can meet your needs. However, even the best breast pumps can sometimes require replacement parts, particularly the pump parts that are most frequently used. It's a good idea to keep extra pump parts on hand, particularly if you plan to breastfeed for an extended period of time or will be using your pump frequently.  Often insurance companies cover additional pump parts every few months.  You can find out more information through The Lactation Network.  Also, depending on when you gave birth and the duration that you plan to pump for, some insurance companies allow you to get pump per calendar year so you may be eligible for another pump come January.

  3. Steaming bags for quick sterilizing:  Steaming bags are specially designed bags that you fill with water and then place your items inside. You then microwave the bag for a few minutes, and the steam inside the bag sterilizes your items. It's a quick and easy way to ensure that your baby's items are germ-free and ready to use. These bags are also very convenient for travel, as they are small and lightweight. You can easily pack a few in your diaper bag or suitcase, so you can sterilize your baby's items on the go.

  4. Aquaphor: This can be used to treat diaper rashes. It provides the baby's skin with a protective barrier against moist diapers.

  5.  Dishwasher Safe Bottle Cleaner: Designed for convenience, this cleaner easily fits into your dishwasher for a thorough, hygienic, easy wash for parents.

  6. Thermometer: One of the most important things to monitor is your baby's temperature. A fever can be a sign of illness, and it's critical to make sure that you catch it early. That's where a reliable thermometer comes in.

Remember, creating a baby registry is a personal choice, so be sure to add items that you think will work best for you and your baby.
